  • What We Learned About You: Coastlander Quiz Results:

For awhile now, we've been collecting your responses to our Favorite Fans Coastlander Quiz, and boy has it been fun!

It's been great getting to know you better, and hearing your thoughts on our music!

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond!

Or, if you haven't completed it but you want to, just click here.

Hopefully you have as much reading these responses as we have!

Alright, so here's what we learned...

You're Young

Most of our listeners are 30 or younger!

You're Favorite Band Is...

Owl City!

Great choice!

Owl City has played a major influence on me and my music. When I heard about his story and how he went from making music in his parent's basement to stardom, I thought...

"Why can't I make electronic music too?"

Some other bands you liked were:

  • Calvin Harris
  • Ellie Goulding
  • Lights
  • Avicii
  • Skillet
  • Imagine Dragons
  • Relient K

What stood out to you about us

It was really cooling seeing what stood out to you about us, Andromeda Coast.

Here are a few responses...

I love the hard work y'all put in the project, the various bpm throughout the song and fun lyrics.
It's nothing like I've heard before.
The synth music with whimsical lyrics reminded me a lot of Owl City and Relient K.
When I heard "Owl City meets the 80s" I knew i had to check it out.

The genre you say we sound like

It's always fascinating to hear what other people say we sound like!

Electronica synth pop

Sounds pretty spot-on to me!

Almost EDM I think

I loved this response because I a lot of people who know me say I make EDM music, and my response is always...

"Kinda, but not really." I think we definitely have EDM elements, but don't go all the way.

Synthwave/Dream pop

This was sooo cool because I've been dying to make some synthwave music. I'm glad it's already coming out!

I also really love Dream pop as well, and worried that having such varied music might alienate you, our listeners.

But what do you think? Is it okay if our music jumps from one genre to another, so long as it still holds it's Andromeda Coast-ness?

Generic

Huh, I guess we need to do a better job with our next album to make it more fresh and unique!

The moods & Feelings Our Music Creates

These were really fun to read!

What we thought was especially interesting was that some of you listen to our music for completely opposite reasons.

Ecstatic, turnt and rainbow mood
Contemplative and studious
I love to listen to music when I'm feeling stressed or extra tense; it helps me calm down and lighten up. If I'm already calm the music really satisfies my up beat mood.
It makes me feel like I'm not alone
Make me feel like I have a mini concert in my room or anywhere I listen to it. Make me wanna move every bone I got.
It doesn't really make me feel any way so much as it helps block other things out.
Love the synthwave vibes and the creative lyrics. I get a fun, playful vibe listening

The books you said go with our music

The same thing with books!

Any book with adventures or with happy endings
Not adventurous books. Mystery books I think would.

Wow, two very different perspectives!

Narnia, Sci-fi/fantasy books, Dreamtreaders by Wayne Thomas Batson
Steampunk novels, or fantasy novels where the reality is not what it seems

Loved these responses! These are our favorite kind of books!

In fact, something you might not know about us is that we are both Speculative Fiction writers ourselves!

We actually met through a writing website I created, and got to know each other initially on a writing online forum!

We still need to publish a novel though. Maybe in 2020?

The Movies you said go with our music

Again, awesome responses!

Gentler movies
Star wars, LOTR
This is harder as movies already have a defined sound track. But dive bomber reminded me of the movie sky captain and the world if tomorrow.

Haven't seen that movie, but now we want to!

Your one word for Andromeda Coast

Loved the words you described our brand as!

  • LOVE
  • Starry
  • Happy
  • Wonder
  • Desperate for $

Well, except for that last one! Haha!

Not sure what we've done to come across as desperate for $, but we're sorry if we've given that impression.

But, we are most definitely desperate. Desperate to get you some new music!

Your Hobbies

You have some cool hobbies...

Video games, hang out with friends, browsing away in stores.
Draw and write.
Produce music, shoot and edit photos and video, read and watch movies and tv.
Read, write, watch Netflix.

Where you hang out online

Looks like we have a lot of variety!

You're creative too!

So cool! Now we need to see some of your work!

The Merch you want

We got a lot of different responses here, but the top items you said you wanted were...

  • T-shirts
  • Patches & Stickers
  • Hats
  • Drinkware
  • Home decor
  • Sheet Music
  • Shoes
  • Bags
  • Jackets

We won't be able to get all of these in our store at first (we don't even have a store yet).

But we'll be adding them as soon as we can!

Do you have any design ideas for how you would like our merch to look?

Let us know in the comments below!

Adventure on!

Hi, I'm

Reagan Ramm

I'm one half of Andromeda Coast. I handle most of the writing and production of our songs as of now. I'm greatly inspired by the music of the 80s, Owl City, Space, and Sci-fi. You can probably hear a bit of that in our music.

When I'm not making music, I'm working full-time as a digital marketer, or having fun with my amazing wife Haley (the other half of Andromeda Coast), and our wonderful son Asher Phoenix (who's not yet 1).
